Breaking it down

Our next QAL assignment is to separate our big fabric pull into three smaller similar groups, each to become a separate quilt in this series.

I accomplished this easily, just doing a simple arithmetic division.  Each one of my three stacks has twice as many of one feature color, and like amounts of the remaining colors.  I'm sure I will be rearranging as things progress.

Because I've always been a scrappy quilter, I have accumulated large varieties of fabrics in any given color -- it was a cinch for me to come up with this many pieces in similar tones.  And there is plenty more where these came from to add wherever needed.

I do see that almost all of my fabrics in all three groups are 'mediums', with not much contrast.  I'll definitely need to be aware of what ends up next to what as I go along so it doesn't all just mush and fade together.  And I'm going to dig into stash for a very dark espresso brown and a grayish teal to include as constants/neutrals.
