Just when I'd decided to stop doing group projects, Audrey at Quilty Folk came up with this tempting applique QAL
She'll be offering an informal, slow-paced creative experience, with emphasis on the use of 'old' fabrics from stash, which will result in three lap size improv-style quilts. I certainly do have 'old' fabric, and lap size is an achievable goal. On the other hand, it's described as a process-based QAL and I am an extremely product-oriented person: I always start at "What am I trying to create? How big, what colors, what style?" Getting myself past that perspective and just letting go will be my greatest challenge!
This QAL has been tempting me though because it's an opportunity to explore Audrey's charming signature style, and furthermore to stretch myself. As a long-time admirer of her work, I think I'll tiptoe in and see how it goes. I'm not committed 100% yet, but hopefully my health and my attention span will see me through to some interesting results.
And anyway, I LOVE the name Bramble Blooms!
