Our first assignment for the BRAMBLE BLOOMS QAL is to pull fabric. Lots of fabric.
One of the intentions of this project is to use existing stash, and in particular to try to incorporate some old, tired, less-favored fabrics by looking at them through new eyes. The example we were shown had several color elements and an assortment of neutrals, but no real specifics: just gather what feels interesting. Furthermore, Audrey suggests that we separate our selection into three stacks, each being approximately one quilt's-worth. Splitting down this master pile into three subgroups will be my next task.
If there is one thing I DO have, it's an abundance of stash. With absolutely zero color plan in mind, I browsed through some tubs this afternoon, and came up with a relatively coordinated pull that seems like a jumping off point for me. I will probably add some grayish teal as a constant. So far, so good.
